LEAVING CANDY STORE + THE RATPACK
….ABOUT TIME EVERYONE KNEW THE TRUTH!
Everyday I receive messages from people asking me about the The Candy Store and if I will be there for them to visit etc etc.
This is starting to annoy me now, I didn’t wanna bother boring people with the details of whats been happening and if im honest I dont really give a fuck about the shop im to busy to waste time thinking about it but I need to set the record straight once and for all.
People constantly tell me that when they have visited the shop and asked for me they are simply told im not in, and when they ask about Jilted they get told its all sold out.
What they should be telling people is that IM NO LONGER ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE SHOP and that I completely pulled out back in January when I agreed to be brought out, for obvious reasons the staff have been told not to tell customers this so instead people are being mislead!
I dont blame the staff they just do what they get paid to do and dont wanna jeopardise their jobs!
(Long story short) ….My ex’partner after going to Bread+Butter (streetwear trade show Berlin) realised that the shop needed to grow organically (something I told him for the start) and wasn’t gonna be the quick cash cow he first thought so in a ‘scare tactic’ he called a meeting within a couple days of getting back. He told Myself + Dwayne (3rd partner), that he’d been looking over the accounts and the way things were going the shop only had about 6months left until we would run out of money and we’d have to shut the shop!
(….OH YE, he also ran all the shops paperwork and accounts etc, me + Dwayne knew fuck all about the shops financial status except for what he thought we needed to know, (my own fault) I was too busy running other areas of the store to be overlooking boring office shit so I left him to do what he’s best at, Calculator Brain!)
….IM A BUSINESS, NOT A BUSINESS MAN!
He knew FULL WELL I didn’t want the shop to close and would do anything for that not to happen and for my staff (MY TEAM) to lose their jobs and all my hard work to go to waste, I adored the place was like my own house, I painted the walls an cleaned the fuckin toilets!
I constantly blocked his little Nisa style ‘Special Offer’ ideas which like him were plastic and he obviously got sick of this. He wanted the shop all to himself now that the shop was running smoothly 6months in and known worldwide so in his eyes he no longer needed me!
He basically said he wanted to inject £100,000 into the shop to keep it open but only if he had full control!
Like I said I didn’t want what id built to fail nor did I want my staff to lose their jobs, by the end of our 20minute meeting he offered to buy me out for £20,000 + some stock he’d paid for, I said £30,000 and the next morning he accepted my offer and I pulled out.
I had no problem with leaving the shop even though (ID NEVER MADE OR TAKEN 1 PENNY FROM IT) because im way too busy with Jilted and for different reasons since the start of the year the shop was no longer my main priority!
UNTIL THIS VERY DAY THE £100,000 HASN’T BEEN PUT INTO THE SHOP N ITS STILL RUNNING FINE!
I gave rebirth to The Candy Store ….Me, my Dad + my Lads actually built the shop, I brought all staff to the table, all brands after Candy Store was blacklisted, I pushed + promoted the store pre-opening through JAYREAD.COM and basically brought the whole thing to life!
Even though I pulled out in January I was still pushing the store in all areas and continued to be the face of it, I obviously loved the place so once I agreed to pull out I didn’t do anything to damage or slander Candy even though the truth is that behind the scenes I was (silently) dealing with a SOCIOPATH (LOOK INTO THE MEANING OF THIS!) in my ex’partner who cares about NOTHING + NOBODY but himself and his chase to TRY and become ‘SOMEBODY‘!
….Like I said I had no problem with leaving the shop there was just one thing missing, my £30,000 buy out money!
My old partner compulsively lied to myself and Dwayne about paying etc until a month ago after 7months of listening to his bolloks I lost my temper an roughed him up a little bit, as planned he ran to the police thinking id go straight back to jail and would then be out of his way for him to run Candy the way he’d always wanted! (Like his newsagents)
He told police a load of shit trying to spice things up talking about ‘other subjects’ basically trying to paint a bad picture including BLACKMAIL stating that I have never been a part of Candy and im bullying him demanding money with menaces! HA HA (the clown’s deranged)
Police are not known for being on team Read but they saw straight through his BULLSHIT and knew he was trying to stitch me up!

….2 charges were threw out and im currently still in court for a minor abuse of his personal space!
I have been so open in explaining all these details because ‘IM AS REAL AS IT GETS‘ and totally comfortable in myself, im not AT ALL bothered about looking stupid cuz iv been scammed it was THE BEST THING that has happened since I got involved in Candy also a BLESSING IN DISGUISE and I thank the RATPACK for releasing me from the store, its not until I have moved away from the shop that iv realised what a burden it was and has held me back for the past year IV WASTED!
I DONT wish any bad on Candy Store I was over it a long time ago and I DO wish them all the best with the opening of the London store, spending £60,000 of daddies inheritance money on a shop fit will get you an amazing store, but with the way you do business and the people you have upset (throughout the past 10years) im not sure how long things are going to last!
If you was actually ‘somebody’ and you’d took the shop ‘that way’ then id take it on the chin and we could ‘deal with it’ like men, unfortunately I overlooked the fact I was dealing with A RAT who’s field I have no experience in!
