Jilted ‘X’ Black Scale

Jilted ‘X’ Black Scale collaboration has been on the cards since last year.

…TONS has happened with Jilted since then and things have moved faster than expected!

While in LA couple months back myself + Mega arranged a shoot at his store
refreshing peoples memories about our affiliation and announcing the collaboration.

Full Cut + Sew collaboration is on the cards for release next Summer/Autumn 14.

Last weekend I flew to France to attend one of the only conventions I bother with each year.
Whenever I meet someone for the first time they always ask me what I do, if I mention anything to do with modelling they always assume ‘tattoo magazines’ etc.
People that know me know I dont really care for tattoos, and the truth behind the reason I’m covered is personal but simply that I dont want any visible skin showing, tattoos obviously being the only way of achieving that!

Basically the reason I went all the way to France wasn’t for my interest in or love for tattoos, but simply because I was invited by the organiser who is a close friend of mine and to judge the tattoo contests.
(…I’m also president of the convention!ha)

Got to the airport late and missed check in by 10 minutes, STRESS!

Could of got there faster on this f**ker …6 hours later!

NAIL plane interior felt like I was on an old junior school coach!

Landed into Basel late missing the first day of the convention!

Headed straight to Besancon, Mick + Andres already at the first location of the Jilted shoot.

Lads come and pick me up and with the light dying we head straight to the second location!

That was until we discovered the Bat Cave (and Mick’s break dancing)! …OH DEAR!

Never rely on anyone in life then u can never be let down!
Always stand (sit) on ur own 2 feet even if u dont have to!

If u do have a Gaz in ur life ur as lucky as can be, mine’s never far away whenever I need him!

Woke up next day, heads clear (no drinking), suns shining, and we head for the convention!

Quick hello to my Brother + convention organiser Jean Marc, then off for a little mooch.

Found Simon not looking the best, slightly red from pain strain and all the alcohol!

Another reason why I was in France was for a meeting with Mick (Dee),
Mick has represented Jilted from the beginning and his loyalty is unquestioned,
his face tattoo is an obvious sign of this but more than that myself and Mick have always been on the same page as far as life direction and morals go.
He is Xgames winnin, pro freestyle skiin, Edesse band screamin mother f**ker an pushes Jilted through it all!

As everybody now knows from these next Summer + Autumn drops onwards Jilted will be in stores globally which obviously includes many countries in Europe, I met with Mick to discuss the opportunity of him Joining the Jilted team on a more permanent basis.

Half way through the judging I needed a bathroom break, the compere completely mugged me off and decided to tell a few hundred people why proceedings had came to a halt! …NICE 1!

That marked the end of another short but amazing convention.

My flight wasn’t until 5pm on monday, suns shining so we went for a walk and mooch around Besancon,
beautiful little town!

Walked down the river for a coffee in the town centre,
sitting admiring the sights and before I knew it it was time to leave!

AMG, Fastest taxi iv ever had, not much chance of me missing this flight!

At the airport with 2 hours to waste, chilling thinking about the weekend
and making a plan of action for Mick’s Swiss take over!

… ANOTHER LIFE CHANGING 2 WEEKS!

Bags packed, money sorted, got passport, Jilted samples, WERE READY!

I obviously knew what I had planned over the coming 2 weeks and that it was going to add to
the life changing trips Id already been on over the past couple months as far as Jilted goes!
What I didn’t know or remotely expect was that this trip was going to change the course of my life forever
and trigger a COMPLETE change in myself and the way I lead my life!

… ALL FOR THE BETTER!

In a world of my own on the train to London, about to get off the train and for literally 5 seconds
I thought a naughty boy had stolen my case, HEAD FELL OFF!
Case had been rolling around the whole journey (so an old man told me!ha)

Finally arrived at my very pink destination … When in Rome!

Headed straight to the convention to link up with Junior + Senior Jefferies.

… Found them both in the bar gettin loose!

Not long until I spot the 1st sign of Jilted!

Met up with Matt Difa who twisted my arm into drinking about 10 JD’s!

Hungover on sunday and looking like s**t went and did a little shoot,
then Difa again wrestled me to the bar and proceeded to force drinks down my neck,
I obviously tried to resist wanting no part of it but was left with no choice!

… Ended my night in the toilet creating modern art!

Woke up monday sideways in my hotel, head BANGIN with about 2 hours until my Vegas flight takes off,
basically …I MISSED MY FLIGHT!

Feeling very disorientated from the weekend my office booked a new flight for Wednesday
and I headed to London to get my head together!

Feeling slightly depressed from all the alcohol and already pi**ed off that iv missed Jilted meetings at MAGIC
the logical thing for me to do would be to chill out and let my head settle!

Not known for my rational thinking and never listening to my own advice I started drinking on the plane,
mixed with adrenaline rushes from watching Bane and an already confused mind it was A BAD COMBO!

I arrived in Vegas to miserable weather and headed straight to the show where the drinking continued!

The lads … Jilted, Franks Chop Shop, Tisa + co.

Later that evening we headed out to catch up an have a little private meal,
Jilted, Black Scale, Franks Chop Shop, Gourmet Footwear.

Myself and Black Scale dipped off to the Crooks + Castles party where the drinking really started!

SMASHED!

We left the party and headed to the strip club, THE BEGINNING OF THE END!

…I mean it when I say that the events that unfolded at the club triggered me (the next morning)
to begin a COMPLETE change and overhall of myself : QUIT ALCOHOL, start thinking,
diagnosing my personality/actions/issues, drop my negativeness, finding inner calm,
be more thoughtful and understanding, THINK about the future and the effect I have on other peoples lives before I do things, never hurting people you have love for, ETC ETC …(too much to list!)

…BASICALLY START LIVING A LIFE WITH A POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE!

What happened was not even remotely as serious as things that iv done in the past,
yet the following day it had more of an effect on me than ANYTHING IV EVER DONE!

Last day at Vegas I went n said goodbye to the lads and
spent the evening catching up with Arabella mooching the strip.

Next day checked out the hotel and headed for LA, after a whirlwind 48 hours I began the same process of self diagnosis that I had done 5 years previous, leading me to where I am at this day!

6 hours of silence and scenery is a good way to clear the mind and make a plan of action!

As I have mentioned in past interviews, my life can be broken up into periods of 5 years!
0-5 …I dont remember
5-10 …A Broken childhood
10-15 …Dysfunctional school life
15-20 …Heroin addiction
20-25 …Discovering myself/Living life
25-30 …Discovered creativity/Started Jilted

…NOW A NEW PERIOD HAS BEGAN!
PMA is a part of my everyday life and it never leaves my mind!
MY FOCUS, IS ON BEING FOCUSSED …On Jilted, Positivity, Creativeness + Success!
… Surrounding myself with good people and basically just BEING HAPPY N ENJOYING LIFE!

Later that night we arrive in LA, first stop, bit of night shopping, Black Scale + Mishka.

My mobile phone got blocked, quick call to Gaz, (as always) problem solved!!!

Finally checked into the hotel, after 4 years and about 50 countries my suitcase has finally died!

Next morning suns blazing through my window, a good start to a good day and the beginning of a new way of life!

Arranging times for Jilted ‘X’ Black Scale shoot.

Went for breakfast, saved this till the very end and like KARMA kicking me in the balls,
I dropped it …of course!

Feeling relaxed we jumped on the freeway and headed downtown to the shoot.

(My mind was elsewhere at the shoot, Mega + Teron gave me some good advise
throughout this trip on many different subjects, I got nothing but love for u brothers!)

Left the shoot and headed down to Roscoes for dinner.

looking back over a life spent inside a broken mind!

Next stop … CANADA!

Landed late into Montreal and headed straight for my bed,
hotel was down by the old port, AMAZING!

Early start the next day, straight to Crooks And Castles manufacturing headquarters to begin
confirming Jilted Summer 13 samples and start working on all Fall 13 Teck Packs.

Guided tour round the whole operation including the Crooks (+ Jilted) print factory.

Crooks delivery fleet … Jilted soon come!

On the way back to my hotel we stopped at the famous St-Viateur Begal shop, OMG, UNREAL!

MY LIFE IS AMAZING AND I COULDN’T WISH FOR ANYTHING ELSE,
I ENJOY MY OWN SPACE AND COULD EASILY SPEND MY LIFE ALONE BUT ITS
NOT ALWAYS FUN DOING EVERYTHING ALONE, I WANNA SHARE THIS AMAZINGNESS!

Next day back to the office to continue with Jilted.

A few months ago I went for meetings in Berlin at the BRIGHT trade show.
One meeting was with the owner of Crooks manufacturing based in Canada who was interested in Jilted,
The others were with veterans of global distribution working in the streetwear industry.

To cut a long story short, all Jilted manufacturing will now be done side by side with Crooks And Castles,
and distributed globally through the same channels as Crooks + Famous.

As of this Summer (June) Jilted will be in selected stores globally and growing by the season.

That also includes 22 stores across the UK for Fall (August) and again growing as we go!

End of another amazingly productive day, walked outside straight into a snowstorm!
I LOVE MONTREAL!

Leaving the office I headed over to see good friends of mine Safwan + Greg at Imago tattoo.

…Got myself a landmark tattoo from Greg marking this time in my life and a new beginning!

… Next morning, flew to OC to see my brother Billy an catch up on his Californian movements!

Off the plane, quick change of headwear and were good to go!

From ‘work’ in OC we traveled ‘home’ to SD.
I LOVE THIS LIFE, EVERY TIME IM HERE I NEVER WANNA LEAVE!

Always on my mind!

Arrived at Billy’s amazing pad, absolutely love the place,
with a swimming pool in your bedroom, WHO WOULDN’T!

Hung my clothes up in MY little walk in wardrobe,
showered in MY ensuite …and out to dinner we went!

BEST STEAK/MEAT ‘ANY OF US’ HAD EVER TASTED! INSANE!
(Good to see you brother, LOVE ALWAYS!)

Back home to try catch up on some work. (FB always seems to pop up and get in the way!)

…Enough of the high life now back to the city, headed to LA
to meet back up with Vin and continue Jilted business as usual!

First stop, the nearest book shop!
When I was in Canada myself and Greg spoke about a lot of things including this book
which he assured me would help me in the direction my life is now heading!

Me, Vin and Liam decided to have half a day off work an went to chill at the Pier,
snap some pics of the local weirdness! (and of course myself!)

Even the other side of the world people are bootlegging my style!
(Only messin, was his friends brand, nice bloke!)

Dont mind waiting in line aslong as I get something sweet at the end of it!

No matter where you are you’l always find a Jean!

Clocks ticking so we head to my appointment with Vinnie at the Proper Barber Shop

No matter how far I travel she’s never far away!

After a long but relaxed day we finally get back at Vin’s apartment,
sorting out the days pics, eating junk food and watching a classic!

Woke up to another amazing day, its obvious why I cant get enough of this place!

Didn’t really get to talk too much at the shop so the next day I went for dinner
with Vinnie and dropped him a little Jilted parcel.

Popped into Black Scale to say a final goodbye to my boys,
gave me a few gifts, EVERY TIME ITS NOTHING BUT LOVE!

FINALLY met up with Chris (FUCT) for a quick chat about Jilted and our US plans.

LAX = HOME TIME!

Only been back in London 5 minutes and already got myself a little admirer!

My carriage awaits, long/slow drive back to Birmingham and holiday blues sets in!

No time for rest, next morning straight back to London for meeting with my UK distributors.

While at the showroom talking and catching up with the lads
it started to hit home about what iv actually put together over the past 3 years.
I always push the message that anything is possible if you put your mind to it
and also that the world can literally be yours if you want it bad enough,
but I never sit back and actually think about how I am a practitioner of my own advise
and have put into action all the things that I preach about daily to others!

Sometimes you dont realise things until you are slapped in the face by them
or until people you respect actually tell you and put things into perspective for you!

Since I wrote this blog I have been back to Canada/Crooks for another weeks work
and things have once again moved up another level! (blog coming soon)

For a number of reasons this will be the last drop were producing in the UK,
all Jilted collections beginning this summer onwards come from our new
Crooks And Castles manufacturer based in Canada.

Jilted is already known for the quality and attention to detail that we put into our garments,

ANOTHER MOMENT WHEN (FOR ME) ONCE AGAIN THINGS HIT HOME!

When I say “its all relevant” I mean EVERYTHING in life is relevant to everything else!
EVERY ACTION, HAS A REACTION, and so on, and so forth! (Good OR Bad)

….As everybody knows there are many people who’ve had Jilted tattoos and this continues weekly,
I am more proud of the Jilted Family than I can ever put into words (tattooed or not is irrelevant!)

Around a month ago I received these tattoo pics, the first thing I noticed was obviously how good it was, but the more I sat and thought about it the more things sunk in and started to make sense!
Everybody is inspired by somebody/something, I myself am inspired daily SIMPLY by life and all aspects of it
= people, situations, visuals, experiences, etc!
I walk round with my eye wide open and absorbe everything I whiteness taking what good I need from the information I receive and disposing of the bad, throughout life this is how I have became the person I am today!

The inspiration behind Jilted is a mix of all the things in life I experience daily and choose to hold onto, mixed in with the past 31years iv been on this planet, NOTHING IS OVERLOOKED OR FORGOTTEN and EVERYTHING IS RELEVANT!

The Jilted Family is made of all the people worldwide that I have had an effect on, it may simply be u like the garments, the innuendos I make behind my designs, the tattoos, etc etc.
This love that I receive and the messages I receive weekly motivate me to continue doing what I do and I WILL NEVER STOP being myself, I started Jilted around 3years ago and at times things have been VERY hard and tiring especially when I run many aspects of Jilted myself!
BUT, ASLONG AS IM ALIVE JILTED WILL ALWAYS BE HERE!

ME – I am inspired by what I see + experience in life, motivating me never to stop, obviously including Jilted!
U – Jilted is why the public are initially introduced to me and they then begin to follow JR world.
ME – When I see this continual response and Love people have for Jilted I am inspired to push even harder!
U – The harder I push the more successful Jilted becomes, and with this more of ‘U’ discover and join the FAMILY!
ME – This cycle has continued since I 1st began Jilted an we are now a global brand affiliated wiv streetwear’s elite!
U - BASICALLY, ‘U’ INSPIRE ME AS MUCH AS I INSPIRE U, WITHOUT U JILTED WOULD NOT EXIST!!!!

Like I said ….ITS ALL RELEVANT!!!!

A couple weeks ago I was at Brighton Tattoo Convention and Max came down to meet up with me in person before his deployment, was a pleasure to meet such a lovely kid!
