Last week Example passed through The Candy Store for a catch up and to collect the 1st piece
from the Example/Jilted collaboration line that will be released in a few months.
1st début was Wednesday at Itunes Festival.
This went out to 2.2 million viewers in over 100 countries.

After a years wait myself and Peter O’Toole have finally found the time to work on our Jilted collaboration piece, Im not gonna say to much about it but its definitely gonna be something you dont wanna miss out on!
Iv known peter a few years now and around a year ago Peter made 5 numbered screen prints from an illustration he drew of me which were sold for £240 each.
(Of course he gave me #1 for the pleasure of drawing me!ha)

….Then around 6 months ago I called on peter to help redraw my home page on jayread.com and within a week he’d drew the whole thing as you see it today!

Claudia De Sabe for those that don’t already know is a world renowned artist who works from Jolie Rouge tattoo in London.
She is also one of the leading female traditional artists in the country with her own unique vintage style.
Unlike a lot of the continually repeated old school shit you see being produced Claudia’s work stands alone and is identifiable from a mile off!
As you know Jilted is not your average brand and my designs are influenced and inspired by
my life (so far), my feelings and my thoughts!
Jilted Royalty = Jay Read
I have walked in many circles worldwide in my 29years and in this short time I have lived the life of a thousand men, I have also came to appreciate many different styles and throughout 2011 Jilted will be collaborating with different artists / brands worldwide.
These collaborations will show a different side to what people have seen so far from Jilted as there is obviously more than 1 person working on the design but as always I am confident in everything I do an I know you will all ‘get it’ and love it!
Many of the artists / brands are from completely different circles and have their own completely different styles yet all of them understand and appreciate what Jilted is about n stands for!
……..Claudia is one of them.

After talkin over the shape n location of the initial drawing we decided that the 1st pic would work better as a tattoo so im gonna use that actual picture as the basic drawing for my new sleeve.
This is the new basic design layout of the 1st Tshirt.
(Somebody from Russia emailed me n commented that they thought there would be more pictures up of the co-lab designs)
I’m sorry mate but I’m afraid at the minute i have a crazy life with a thousand opposite things going on in it and drags me all ova the world n i know Matt is the same so the co-lab is gonna take a bit of time to box off and these pics are gonna have to do for now! 
A sneak peak at the first basic sketches for the up and coming co-lab between me and Matt Difa.
As you can see the Tshirt design is based on a comic book cover and Matt has basically made a Marvel themed character reptile Read battling with wolverine!
My new sleeve will be in the same theme as the drawings that you will see on here throughout this collaboration, all stages of the tattoo will be Blogged on the Jay Read site.
I’m ‘Stoked’ (Matt’s words) about this design its gonna be big and a killa start to this years co-labs!
